If you live in the City of Laurel's Historic District you must check with the city before changing the exterior of your home.

LAUREL, MD - From The City of Laurel: Do you live in the City of Laurel’s Historic District? If you do, Mayor Craig A. Moe wants to remind you to check with the Department of Economic and Community Development before you make any changes to the exterior of your home.

Also, be aware that the City’s Municipal Code states any exterior change to a property within the Historic
District which is visible from a public street, sidewalk, alley way or public space is subject to review by
the Historic District Commission.
