Hammond High School Holds Empty Bowls Benefit for Grassroots

Public invited to fundraiser at the school this Friday, March 6. Admission is $10 for soup, bread and ceramic bowl.

Hammond High School’s National Art Honor Society and Culinary Department are hosting “Empty Bowls 2020,” a community fundraiser for Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center, on Friday, March 6, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm, in the cafeteria. Admission is $10 and includes an all-you-can-eat soup and bread dinner and a handmade ceramic bowl.

The ceramic soup bowls have been created by Hammond High School students. The soups are made by faculty and students participating in the Hammond High School Culinary program. All of the proceeds from the event go to Grassroots, Howard County’s only 24-hour crisis center and homeless shelter.
