Laurel Holds Special Olympics Torch Run

The City of Laurel would like to invite the community to support Officers and Special Olympians in the Torch Run on June 8.

From The City of Laurel: Mayor Craig A. Moe invites the community to participate in the Laurel leg of the Special Olympics Torch Run which will be held Thursday, June 8, 2017.

The event begins at 10:00am and the Laurel Police Department, along with team members of the Special Olympics, will start the Torch Run at the Robert J. DiPietro Center and travel throughout the City. Residents are invited to come out to cheer on the Officers and Special Olympians.

Here’s what you need to know about the Laurel leg of the run:

· From the Robert J. DiPietro Center it will continue on Cypress St. to Westmeath Dr.

· Westmeath Dr. to Killbarron Dr.

· Killbarron Dr. to Van Dusen Rd.

· Van Dusen Rd. to Sandy Spring Rd.

· Sandy Spring Rd. to Montgomery St.

· Montgomery St. to 4th St.

· 4th St. to Main St.

· Main St. to Route 1

· Route 1 S/B to Laurel Police Department.
