Laurel Woman Dies Following Monday Night Shooting

Prince George's County Police identified a Laurel woman who died from injuries she received during a Monday night shooting incident.

LAUREL, MD — A 24-year-old Laurel woman died Tuesday from injuries she received during a Monday night shooting incident, according to a police release. Prince George's County Police identified the victim as Briah Jackson.

On Monday, around 5:35 p.m., officers responded to a local hospital for the report of two walk-in shooting victims. Police learned that Jackson and the second victim, an adult male, had been shot as they were sitting in a vehicle in 8200 block of Gorman Avenue in Laurel. Jackson died from her injuries Tuesday morning and the second victim is being treated for his injuries.

PGPD detectives are working to identify suspects and a motive for the shooting.
