1. Laurel resident Chelsea Adinuba is a woman on the rise! She started her entrepreneurial journey by making bonnets, which are a cap traditionally worn by women to protect hairstyles. Adinuba had so many requests that she launched her first business, Chels Designs, in 2019. Along with bonnets, she now creates scrunchies, face masks, bags and do-rags. She has had orders from Texas, the United Kingdom and Canada. Her success motivated her to write two books before graduating from Charles Herbert Flowers High School in 2021. In her book, Adinuba shares the skills and tricks she learned while running her own business. It can be purchased on Amazon for $25. (Baltimore Sun)
