Merriweather District Artists in Residence Showcased

Panel discussion focuses on trends, culture, art and technology

The inaugural Merriweather District Artists in Residency program, established by The Howard Hughes Corporation in partnership with the Howard County Arts Council, concluded with an Open Studio for regional artists and arts patrons, community leaders and local dignitaries.

A panel discussion moderated by The Howard Hughes Corporation marketing director Vanessa Rodriguez included Ken Farmer, founder of Wild Dogs International and curator of OPUS Festival, UMBC Professor and multi-disciplinary artist Lisa Moren and JaMar Jones, founder and CEO of Six Point Pictures in Baltimore.

The Artists in Residence – Sophia Brous, Eric Dyer and Hoesy Corona – spoke with guests and displayed the product of their two-month tenure in the Two Merriweather office building in Downtown Columbia.
