Critically Missing Man Has Been Found: Howard County Police

Police said Jacob Umar disappeared from the Laurel area on Saturday; he was located on Sunday.

LAUREL, MD — Police asked for help finding a teen who disappeared Saturday afternoon in the Laurel area. He is developmentally disabled, and authorities say they are concerned for his welfare.

By Sunday morning, police reported he had been found. He "has been located unharmed," the Howard County Police Department said in a statement Sunday morning.

Jacob Bobzom Umar, 19, left home in the 9400 block of Kings Grant Road in Laurel. He was walking when he left around 2:30 p.m., police said, and when he did not return, his family became concerned.

When last seen, he was wearing red shorts with black stripes on the sides with a white shirt that says "106" on the back, police said.

Umar was described as a black man who is 6-feet-1-inch tall and 280 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

He was located, unharmed, early Sunday morning, according to police.
