TimberNook Launches Unique Outdoor Camps in Maryland
Internationally recognized camp program launches two locations in MD. Providers prepare for first season and open enrollment to families.

TimberNook, an outdoor program for children that integrates sensory experiences, imagination, and nature, invites families to register now to secure a spot for the inaugural season at two new Maryland locations.
TimberNook is the brainchild of pediatric occupational therapist Angela Hanscom. The program uses stories, games, and experiences to encourage children to have fun, learn, develop, and explore their surroundings. This summer, two new providers in Maryland will open their camps to children ages 4 - 13. The first location in West River is owned and operated by new TimberNook provider Teece Nowell, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. Christine Force, a pediatric physical therapist, will be offering TimberNook programs in Gaithersburg. The two new providers look forward to the opportunity to bring an authentic nature experience to children in Maryland.
Angela Hanscom, TimberNook Founder, CEO, and pediatric occupational therapist, anticipates an exciting future for TimberNook of Central Maryland and TimberNook West River, and hopes families will take advantage of the camps' first sessions. “At our camp, we use the environment as a “third teacher” to enhance child development and foster creativity,” said Hanscom. “It’s amazing to see children explore their surroundings, take risks, play, build and dive into their imaginations – all while enjoying the great outdoors.”
