- The water feature at Emancipation Community Park, which sits adjacent to the Laurel Library along Eighth Street, is operational again after the feature was not turned on in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions. It is one of the best local places for kids to cool down in the summer months. The water feature is open from noon to 2:00 p.m. daily. (Baltimore Sun)
- Fish public art project on Laurel’s Main Street aims to beautify, heighten awareness of protecting watershed. Fish are swimming slowly in the breeze along Main Street in Laurel among a variety of native grasses. Some have bright colors, others are lifelike and still others are covered in bottle caps and litter. (Baltimore Sun)
- The Laurel 4th of July Committee has planned their 42nd Independence Day Celebration, being held on July 3. Visit the City of Laurel website for a schedule of the events. (City of Laurel)
