12 Montgomery County Daycare Centers Remain Open During Shutdown

Most daycare centers in Maryland were ordered to close during the coronavirus pandemic. Twelve of them are still open in Montgomery County.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) ordered most daycare centers to close by Friday, in an effort to slow the spread of the new coronavirus. The ones that can remain open: daycare centers that solely serve the children of essential workers.

According to state education officials, 12 facilities will be open in Montgomery County during the public health crisis.
