Adoptable Pets Of The Week: Doobie, Lucky, Carmen, Scampi & Todd

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — The Montgomery County Adoption Center has been operating on an appointment-basis during the pandemic, but is almost ready fully re-open to the public. Get a look at some of the pets you can add to your family.

This week, "Patch's Adoptable Pets of the Week" includes Doobie, Lucky, Carmen, Scampi and Todd.

Doobie

Name: Doobie - ID#A367377
Sex, Breed: Neutered male, black and brown Boxer and Rottweiler.
Age: Estimated to be 11 years old.
Shelter staff made these comments about this dog: Doobie's foster family says that he has obviously been trained in the past and that he seems to be completely housebroken. Doobie often goes into his crate to lie down when they are all hanging out downstairs though he prefers to follow his fosters around the house to be part of the excitement. Doobie is pretty calm and well behaved indoors. He enjoys pets and scratches and will let you know you are not done paying attention to him by gently bumping your hand with his head. He is a chill dog and is content to spend most of the day sleeping. He is the perfect work from home buddy as he will just lay on the floor while you work.

Lucky

Shelter staff made the following comments about this dog: Lucky is a sweet boy who is always eager to meet new people. While he has been described as relatively low energy, he is up for going on long walks while being pretty calm in the house. He has also shown himself to be very smart. Carmen

Shelter staff made the following comments about this dog: Hi I was named Carmen after Carmen Amaya the Spanish flamenco dancer since I LOVE to do happy dances and tap my feet. I am looking for a full-time home that I can call my own. I'm good with house manners and go outside. I do not like the rain but will go outside if you come with me then we can quickly come back inside. I'm a social friendly girl so having dog savvy kids in my furever home is fine by me. I struggled with my weight so staff say I need a home where my family will help me keep my figure so I do not become unhealthy and can continue to live my best life. Scampi

Shelter staff made the following comments about this cat: Scampi is a sweet, affectionate guy who can be shy at first but melts into your hands purring the moment he you pet him. Don't let his age fool you he still has lots of love to give. Scampi enjoys playing with strings and feather toys when he's not lounging by a window.
