Comedian Dave Chappelle To Stump For Ben Jealous On Saturday

Dave Chappelle, a Silver Spring native, will appear with the Democratic nominee for governor at events in Silver Spring and College Park.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Comedian Dave Chappelle will appear at campaign rallies Saturday for Ben Jealous, the Democratic nominee for governor, including an afternoon event in Silver Spring. Jealous is running against Gov. Larry Hogan, the incumbent Republican, in next month's election.

Chappelle will join Jealous at a rally from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at McGinty’s Public House, at 911 Ellsworth Drive in Silver Spring (doors open at 1 p.m.).

On Twitter, Jealous said, ”My good friend Dave Chappelle is also going to be joining me at a rally in his hometown — Silver Spring! Come out to join us with folks from across Montgomery County and the state to turn out every last voter!”

Anyone who wants to attend the rally at McGinty’s Public House has to RSVP, according to Jealous’ Twitter post. Register by clicking here.

Chapelle also will appear at a rally with Jealous on Saturday evening at the University of Maryland in college Park. The event will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Hoff Theater in the Stamp Student Union; doors open at 6:30 p.m.
