Ellsworth Urban Dog Park Opens in Silver Spring
Silver Spring is now home to the Ellsworth Urban Dog Park, opening June 15.

Silver Spring, MD — The first of its kind in Montgomery County, Ellsworth Urban Dog Park will open Wednesday, June 15, in the southwestern corner of Ellsworth Urban Park, 621 Ellsworth Drive in Silver Spring
The park was created to provide a safe exercise area for the dogs and owners who live in the high density residential community nearby. The dog park consists of two separate, fully enclosed exercise areas: a small dog area (about 2,800 square feet) intended for dogs under 20 pounds, and a large dog area (about 17,000 square feet) intended for well-socialized dogs over 20 pounds.
Each enclosure includes a drinking fountain, hose bib or quick coupler connection, artificial turf play mound, benches, shared shade structure, trash receptacles, and a variety of surfacing materials, according to Montgomery Parks. The dog park will be fully accessible from the sidewalk along Colesville Road, through a secure, double gated entry system.
