Free Capital Bikeshare Ride Offered In Montgomery For Earth Day

SILVER SPRING, MD — Capital Bikeshare is bringing back its free ride promotion to encourage Montgomery County residents to enjoy the fresh air on Earth Day.

The bike-share service, owned by Lyft, will allow riders to take a free single trip under 30 minutes on Thursday, April 22. Normally, a single trip under 30 minutes costs $2, and a 24-hour day pass costs $8.

To redeem the offer, download the Capital Bikeshare app. It will be automatically applied to your account when you pick up a bike at any Capital Bikeshare station and return it to any station. Payment information is required in case a trip ends up being more than 30 minutes.

There are 84 docking stations throughout Montgomery County, with 4,500 bikes available to use. View station locations and the total number of bikes available at each station in real-time on the app or online at account.capitalbikeshare.com/map.
