'How To Be Antiracist' Author Is Virtual Storytime Special Guest
'How to be Antiracist' author Dr. Ibram X. Kendi will be reading children's stories to Montgomery County families on Thursday.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Dr. Ibram X. Kendi, author of "Antiracist Baby" and "How to be Antiracist," will be joining Councilmember Will Jawando for virtual storytime on Thursday.
Families can tune in to Jawando's virtual story readings on his Facebook or YouTube page. The event starts at 6:30 p.m.
"Dr. Kendi is one of our nation's preeminent scholars and his perspectives on how to discuss the intractable problem of racism with children is invaluable," said Jawando, who serves as the lead for libraries on the Council's Education and Culture Committee. "Children begin to internalize narratives about race at the age of two. They understand more than we sometimes acknowledge, so it is important to have these conversations directly with them."
