MD Gas Prices Lower Than National Average Over Thanksgiving
Wednesday's regular gas price average in Maryland is $2.45, a drop from $2.50 a month ago.

SILVER SPRING, MD — This Thanksgiving, we can be thankful for lower gas prices in Maryland. According to AAA, Wednesday's regular gas price average in Maryland is $2.45, a drop from $2.50 a month ago. It's also lower than the $2.65 national average and is similar to the $2.48 state average from last Thanksgiving. While Maryland's average gas price is below the national average, Montgomery County has one of the highest prices in the state.
According to AAA estimates, Wednesday's regular gas prices in Montgomery County is $2.74. The county with the next highest average is Garrett County with $2.78. Wicomico County has the lowest gas price average: $2.23.
While Maryland's gas prices are dropping, D.C. is paying more at the pump. The District's $2.82 average price for regular gas is higher than the national average and last Thanksgiving's $2.73. If there's any consolation, the average price for regular gas a month ago was $2.98.

"The nearly 49 million Americans hitting the road for Thanksgiving will find pump prices similar to last year," said AAA spokesperson Jeanette Casselano in a news release. "When it comes time to fill-up during the trip, motorists should keep in mind that gas stations along highly traveled routes may find prices more expensive than in-town."
