Montgomery County Playgrounds To Begin Slowly Reopening
Montgomery Parks says it will take 10 to 15 days to reopen all 276 county playgrounds.
SILVER SPRING, MD — After months of being closed, Montgomery County playgrounds are starting to reopen to the public.
Montgomery Parks began the gradual process of reopening its playgrounds on Monday. County officials say it will take 10 to 15 days to reopen all 276 playgrounds.
"Parents and children must observe social distancing guidelines and wear face coverings, and should clean their hands before, during, and after using equipment," Montgomery Parks said in a statement. "Park visitors are encouraged to bring their own wipes and hand sanitizer."

Now that the county is in phase two, the parks department will begin reopening a number of other facilities, including the tennis centers at Wheaton Regional Park and Cabin John Regional Park and the Wheaton Sports Pavilion.

- Tennis centers at Wheaton Regional Park and Cabin John Regional Park will reopen on July 6 with limited hours
- The Wheaton Sports Pavilion will reopen on July 6 for futsal, soccer, and lacrosse
