Parts Of Sligo Creek Parkway Closed In August For Tree Removal

SILVER SPRING, MD — A portion of Sligo Creek Parkway will be closed for several days in August, so crews can remove large, hazardous trees in the area, according to Montgomery Parks.

The closures are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the following days:

• Aug. 20: Sligo Creek Parkway between Piney Branch Road to Kennebec Avenue
• Aug. 21: Sligo Creek Parkway from Maple Avenue to Carroll Avenue
• Aug. 26: Sligo Creek Parkway from E. Wayne Avenue to Piney Branch Road

"All vehicular traffic should seek alternate routes and expect heavy delays, Montgomery Parks said. "Trail users should also watch for flaggers throughout the Stream Valley area."
