Police Seek Sisters Who Vanished From Silver Spring Home
The Matos sisters — Kandyce, 11, and Karmen, 16 — were last seen by their parents at about 11 p.m. Saturday, police said.
SILVER SPRING, MD — Police are searching for sisters who disappeared from their Silver Spring home this past weekend.
The Matos sisters — Kandyce, 11, and Karmen, 16 — were last seen by their parents at about 11 p.m. Saturday.
Their parents went into the girls' bedroom to check on them at about 11 a.m. Sunday and discovered the girls were not at home, police said.

Detectives believe the sisters are together. Police and family are concerned for the girls’ welfare.
Kandyce is described by police as a black female, 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 137 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.

Karmen is described by police as a black female, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.
The sisters have been known to frequent the Westfield Wheaton Mall at 11160 Veirs Mill Rd; the Bel Pre area in Montgomery County; Prince George’s County and Washington, D.C.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Kandyce and Karmen Matos is asked to call the Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5400 or the police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000 (available 24/7).
