Silver Spring Man Wanted For Murder Of Wife Arrested In Mexico

A Silver Spring man wanted for the murder of his wife​​ has been arrested in Mexico, police said.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A Silver Spring man wanted for the murder of his wife has been arrested in Mexico, Montgomery County Police announced.

Ruel Francis Dempster II, 30, was arrested by the Federal Police on the strength of a Montgomery County warrant in the area of Nuevo Laredo.

Dempster's wife, Alice Mino Dennis, 34, was found dead in their Bel Pre area apartment April 19. Police announced they issued a warrant for Dempster's arrest on April 26, but he fled from the area.

Officers received a call to check the welfare of the occupants of the apartment at about 11:04 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18. The complainant was a family member who was unable to contact the couple for several days, police said.

Dennis was found deceased on the kitchen floor with trauma to her upper body, police said. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore ruled her death a homicide.

Detectives determined Dempster murdered his wife after a domestic dispute and issued a warrant for his arrest.

Dempster could not be located and many of his personal items were gone from the apartment, police said.

Dempster has been extradited to the United States and will return to Montgomery County when the domestic extradition process is complete, police said.
