Sunday, September 18:

  • The county’s final free rabies vaccination clinic takes place from 8 to 10:30 a.m.
  • The Small Press Expo (SPX), which features independent comics and cartooning, takes place at the Marriott Conference Center from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • The AFI Latin American Film Festival continues thru Oct. 6. Find a list of films, here.
  • Support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at Olney Winery from 6 to 9 p.m. with a wine tasting event.
  • BlackRock Center for the Arts screens the film “Sweet Dreams” about Rwanda’s first women’s drum troupe, Ingoma Nshya, and their partnership with two young Americans to open Rwanda’s first ice cream shop. Following the screening will be a performance by a local drum group, an interactive drum circle, and an ice cream social.
  • Landless Theatre Company in partnership with Arts on the Green presents The Mystery of Edwin Drood at Gaithersburg’s Arts Barn at 2 p.m.
