Concert organizers chose the name "UnNaugural" to differentiate this event from the official presidential inaugural events being held the same night.
"A lot of people are dreading Inauguration Day," said concert executive producer and Maryland State Senator Cheryl C. Kagan. "Our concert will be a positive and uplifting way to kick off a weekend of gathering in support of progressive causes as countless numbers of women and men come to the nation's capital for the Women's March on Washington the following day."
