Silver Spring Water Main Break Shuts Down Part Of University Blvd
Friday's water main break has shut down a portion of University Boulevard in Silver Spring. Officials say to expect significant delays.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A water main break has shut down a portion of University Boulevard in Silver Spring on Friday, authorities said.
As of 10:45 p.m., all eastbound lanes and one westbound lane of University Boulevard, between Piney Branch Road and Carroll Avenue, are closed. Montgomery County's Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security says to expect significant delays.
There is no exact timeline for when repairs will be completed. But officials say the closure will be extended until tomorrow.

The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, a company that provides water for both Montgomery and Prince George's counties, tweeted that a water station has been set up for customers impacted by the emergency repairs. The water station will be open until midnight.
Update: A water station is in place for customers impacted by the emergency water main repairs on University Blvd. in Takoma Park/Silver Spring. It is located in the parking lot of the University Blvd. Medical Plaza btwn Forston St. and Carroll Ave. from 8pm-midnight.
