What's Open, Closed For Memorial Day In Montgomery County

Montgomery County parks will be open Memorial Day, but playgrounds and pools will remain closed until further notice.

SILVER SPRING, MD — It's not the typical start to summer, but nevertheless Memorial Day is fast approaching. Montgomery County remains under a stay-at-home order, which means residents are urged to only leave for essential purposes like going to the grocery store and exercising.

Many services and facilities are already closed until further notice, but residents should be aware of schedule changes.

Here's what's open and closed in Montgomery County on Memorial Day:

  • County offices – Closed.
  • Ride On – Will run the same Essential Plan schedule that has been running seven days a week without any further reductions.
  • Metrorail and Metrobus – Information available at www.wmata.com.
  • TRiPS Commuter Store at Silver Spring Transit Center – Open.
  • TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store – Closed until further notice.
  • Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters – Free.
  • Public and private community pools - Closed.
  • Trash collection - Collections slide by one day after Monday, May 25, 2020 with last collection Saturday, May 30, 2020.
  • Montgomery County parks - Open.
