Woman Dies After Being Hit By Her Own Car In Church Parking Lot

BOYDS, MD — An 83-year-old woman died after her car rolled backward and hit her in the parking lot of a church in Boyds.

The incident took place in the parking lot of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church at 19620 White Ground Rd. just before 9 a.m. Sunday.

Authorities said Kathleen Virginia Howard, of Olney, was struck after she exited her Lexus RX 330.

"Her vehicle rolled backward and she was struck," a police statement said. "Detectives are still investigating where Howard was in relation to the vehicle when she was struck."

Howard was transported to a local hospital where she died from her injuries.
