Preschool children in Boston need YOUR help! Our program trains adults (45 yrs old and older) to read, sing, and play 2x per week.

Preschool children in Boston need YOUR help! Jumpstart Boston Community Corps trains adults (45 yrs old and older) to read, sing, and play in preschool classrooms 2 days per week. Our program runs from October 2017 - May 2018 and volunteers receive a small stipend while serving. Openings are available at the Haynes Early Education Center in Roxbury, Roxbury Head Start, Rafael Hernandez School, and the Mattapan Head Start.

Corps members are the heart of Jumpstart. Each school year, we recruit and train over 3,800 college students and community members to implement the Jumpstart program in preschool classrooms where the need is highest in order to help prepare our most at-risk children for kindergarten.
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF A JUMPSTART CORPS MEMBER?Jumpstart Corps members implement the Jumpstart curriculum in preschool classrooms across the country and serve as an aid to teachers. Corps members serve on a team with 5-7 peers and work directly with a local Jumpstart staff member on training, session planning, service opportunities, and more.
