Andover Choral Society presents "Songs of World War I"
Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the end of The Great War
Join Andover Choral Society on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Andover for "Songs of World War I," a concert commemorating the 100th anniversary of America's involvement in the Great War. Presented in partnership with the Andover Historical Society, the concert will feature soprano soloist Deborah Selig.
The first half of the program describes the impact of war through such popular songs as, Over There, It's a Long Way to Tipperary, K-K-K Katy, Keep the Home Fires Burning, Pack Up Your Troubles in Your Old Kit Bag and many other war-era favorites. The second half features Stephen Chatman’s setting of John McCrae’s poem, In Flanders Fields, a United States Armed Forces medley, Irving Berlin’s Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor, and My Country 'Tis of Thee, which was written in Andover.
Tickets are $20 for adults in advance ($25 at the door), $15 for veterans and $5 for students at http://andoverchoralsociety.org/concerts. Discount rates are available or groups of 10 or more. Veterans Memorial Auditorium is adjacent to Doherty Middle School and the Andover Town Offices. The main entrance to the hall is to the left of the Town Offices, overlooking the Andover Town Common. The building is handicapped accessible through the back entrance by Doherty Middle School. Both off-street and street parking is available.

Andover Choral Society is a community chorus dedicated to bringing high-quality choral music to the Merrimack Valley community. Since 1929, membership in the chorus has been open to anyone with a love of great choral music and a desire to share that love with others.
