Andover Fire Puts Out Generator Fire at Pfizer Facility
Firefighters responded to the fire around 11:30 a.m. Monday.

ANDOVER, MA — Andover Fire Rescue put out a generator fire at the Burtt Road Pfizer facility Monday, Chief Michael Mansfield said.
The department was sent to 1 Burtt Road at 11:27 a.m. Monday for a reported generator fire.
The fire was visible from Building D in the complex. Firefighters began working on the building housing the generator.

Crews declared a working fire, bringing in all on-duty and some off-duty Andover firefighters as well as mutual aid from Lawrence and Tewksbury.
The fire was contained to the generator and knocked down at 12:32 p.m., about an hour after firefighters were dispatched.

Crews remained on scene into the early afternoon addressing hotspots.
One Andover firefighter was taken to a hospital for observation due to dehydration.
"This call was made challenging by the extreme heat on scene, so firefighters had to take extra care to ensure they were staying hydrated and not overexerting themselves," Mansfield said. "I want to thank our mutual aid partners, including Rehab Five, for their assistance today.
The fire's cause is under investigation. Officials do not believe it will have any impact on the facility's operations.
