Andover Garden Club Members Win Awards
Ann C Lange and Maria Shapiro both took prizes at this fall's Topsfield Fair.
It came as no surprise that long-time member and past president of the Andover Garden Club Ann C Lange won a blue ribbon for her entry in the Topsfield Fair this fall—that’s pretty much par for the course when this internationally known floral designer enters a flower show.
What particularly pleased her this time is that another club member, Maria Shapiro, who is new to competitive arranging and whom Lange has been coaching and encouraging, won the 2019 Georgia McHugh Novice Award, given annually to the novice with the highest point score in the Design Division at the fair.
In these photos Lange is shown with an arrangement she created for the Andover Garden Club’s November membership meeting, and Shapiro is proudly displaying the award plaque she earned at the Topsfield Fair.
