Andover Garden Club Presents “Designing for the Holidays”
Award-winning floral designer and judge Julie Lapham will dazzle with her demonstration of floral arrangements for the holidays.
Expert designer Julie Lapham has more than 20 years’ experience providing floral touches for special occasions and holiday gatherings. She has lectured at and instructed garden clubs throughout the region and has taught International Design Symposium classes. At the November 7 Andover Garden Club meeting, she will demonstrate an array of creative arrangements and will share tips to help attendees decorate with seasonal flare. Her distinctive designs will be raffled off at the end of the program.
About the Designer
The proprietor of Julie Lapham Designs, Southborough MA, is a National Garden Clubs, Inc., accredited master judge and a Garden Club of America (GCA) approved judge for flower arrangement. She has won awards from both organizations, including the GCA’s 2005 Katherine Thomas Carey Medal for outstanding achievement in flower arrangement education.

Lapham has served as garden club coordinator for Art In Bloom at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, as co-chair of Flora in Winter at Tower Hill Botanic Garden, and for many years has been a member of the design division committee for the Boston Flower & Garden Show (FKA the New England Spring Flower Show). She has exhibited internationally at museums and shows, and was one of only six American designers who demonstrated at the World of Floral Designers USA show in 2011 in Boston. Images of her designs have appeared in several books.

The event will start on Tuesday, November 7, at 10:00 AM with social time and refreshments, followed by a business meeting. Julie Lapham’s demonstration will begin at approximately 11:00 AM. The location is the Fellowship Hall at South Church, 41 Central Street, Andover MA 01810. The $10 donation requested of guests includes refreshments.
Andover Garden Club Welcomes New Members
Founded in 1927, the Andover Garden Club is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that encourages the study and practice of horticulture, landscape design, and floral design; aids in the beautification of the town of Andover; and helps protect and conserve natural resources. A member of the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts, Inc., and National Garden Clubs, Inc., the club provides both financial and hands-on support to a variety of municipal, educational, and environmental organizations throughout the region.
