Andover Native Jay Leno Gives Youth Center $10,000
The Townsman reported Thursday that plans are in place for Leno's $10,000 gift to youth programming.
ANDOVER, MA — Andover native Jay Leno gave the Cormier Youth Center a $10,000 donation on his visit in November, and the money has now been deposited with the Andover Youth Foundation for programming, the Andover Townsman reported Thursday. The resources
"We are doing what Jay asked of us,'' Youth Services Director Bill Fahey told the Townsman. "That money is an account that we will use to help out a kid pay for a program, maybe driver's education or a woodworking program .... A kid might be having a tough time paying and this money now lets us do that.''
Leno, a comedian, hosted The Tonight Show for over 20 years, ending in 2014. He now hosts Jay Leno's Garage.
