Andover Offers Free Parking To Aid Gas Explosion Recovery Effort
The town is hoping to keep streets clear as crews work to replace gas lines following the Sept. 13 explosions.

ANDOVER, MA -- Columbia Gas of Massachusetts said Thursday it has replaced 10.5 miles of the 45 miles of underground gas transmission lines that need to be replaced to restore gas service to more than 7,500 customers in Andover, North Andover and Lawrence. To speed up the process and keep streets free for the nearly 200 construction crews working on the restoration efforts, Andover is offering free parking in its uptown section.
The town will still enforced timed parking on Main Street and adjacent roadways. It will also enforce handicap, fire lane, fire hydrant and other posted No Parking restrictions.
There is significant construction which is needed to make the nessary repairs to restore gas service happening throughout downtown. Please consider parking in the lots and help us keep the streets clear @AndoverMaGov https://t.co/ZSNTyHTWPs
