Andover Positive Coronavirus Test Rate Rises Back Above 2 Percent

ANDOVER, MA — Andover's positive coronavirus test rate rose back above 2 percent over the last two weeks, according to the latest town-by-town report Thursday.

The town's two-week positive test rate had dipped to 1.7 percent in last week's report; it was 2.04 percent in the latest report.

The town reported 67 active cases Friday, up from 53 March 11. There were 85 cases over the last two weeks, up from 74 in the last report.

The town remains moderate risk for the virus.

Massachusetts labeled 20 communities as high risk for the coronavirus Thursday in the latest town-by-town report from the Department of Public Health, up from 14 the week before.

The seven-day average positive test rate for the state rose to 1.93 percent, up from 1.79 percent a week prior. Statewide case counts, hospitalizations and deaths continued to fall.

The state reported 1,857 coronavirus cases, 27 deaths and 62,532 vaccine doses Thursday.
