Dear Parents, Staff, and Students:
We recognize that these are changing times with announcements coming out frequently from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). Â We also realize that there are still many families who are at crossroads in deciding what is best for their own children and situation.Â

Thank you for all your patience as we process all the recent announcements from the Governor’s office.  I know that many of you are anxious to see these changes implemented immediately in the schools.  However, we need to ensure the appropriate process is followed before adjustments can be made.  At the May 20th SC Meeting, the School Committee voted to amend Policy EBCFA, the face-covering policy which will be soon posted on our website.
Therefore, effective immediately, students may choose not to wear a mask outdoors even if social distancing is not observed. Â Adults must continue to wear a mask outdoors if 6 feet of social distance cannot be observed. Â Masks are still required for all adults and students inside school buildings and on school transportation. Â Masks may only be removed indoors during identified mask breaks and lunch when 6 feet of social distancing is observed.
The Governor continues to encourage anyone who has not been vaccinated to wear masks. Â Mask wearing is a personal choice and individuals who may choose to wear masks at all times could be subject to teasing or bullying. Â We ask that you be mindful of these situations and support staff and students as necessary.Â
Sincerely,Claudia
