Andover Residents Take the Stage in "Sweeney Todd"

Pentucket Players Celebrates 25 Years

“Attend the Tale of Sweeney Todd!” So opens Stephen Sondheim’s musical thriller, “Sweeney Todd-The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,” being presented by Pentucket Players Inc of the Merrimack Valley on Nov 16,17, and 18 at Haverhill City Hall Auditorium; 4 Summer St. Haverhill, MA The group which has been based in the Merrimack Valley for 25 years is celebrating their anniversary with this new production which boasts a cast of 40 plus a 10 piece orchestra. This award winning classic score features "Not While I'm Around" and "Pretty Women"; in the melodramatic tale of Sweeney Todd and his accomplice Mrs. Lovett, the pie maker!

Prominently featured are Andover residents Eileen Lorenco as the Beggar Woman, William Donelan featured in the ensemble, as well as North Andover residents Sophia Barbato playing Joanna, Evan Denmark as Beadle and Chris Barker featured in the ensemble.

“Sweeney Todd” is being directed by Haverhill resident, John R. Buzzell, the group’s founder and Resident Artistic Director. Joined with Buzzell is Music Director, John Eldridge, and Costume Designer, Joel Seger. Pentucket Players is joining with the Haverhill Chamber of Commerce in presenting a first-ever open dress rehearsal benefit performance for members of the Chamber and Haverhill City Hall employees.

Tickets for all performances are available on the Pentucket Players website, www.pentucketplayers.org . Information concerning group sales is available at 978-521-9259. Performances on Friday and Saturday eves are at 7:30 pm and Saturday & Sunday matinees are at 1:00 pm
