Andover Town Meeting Again Delayed, To Aug. 22
The meeting may be postponed again, to mid-September, Town Moderator Sheila Doherty said.
ANDOVER, MA — Andover's annual town meeting has been postponed again, this time to Aug. 22, Town Moderator Sheila Doherty announced Friday. It is likely that she will postpone it further, to mid-September, she added.
The town moderator has authority to postpone the meeting one month at a time. She cited continued health concerns regarding the coronavirus as the cause.
Until the Fiscal Year 2021 budget is passed at town meeting, town operations will be governed by 1/12th budgets passed by the Select Board.

At Monday's meeting of the Select Board, selectmen pushed back against Doherty's proposal to potentially move the meeting to Sept., noting the health situation could be worse by then. The town could make use of the Andover High School graduation setup, members noted.
