Body Found in Merrimack River is Missing Lowell Man

Body identified as Rathana "Jonathan" Pin, 23, of Lowell.

ANDOVER, MA — The body recovered in the Merrimack River on Saturday has been identified as Rathana "Jonathan" Pin, 23, of Lowell, according to Essex County District Attorney spokesman Carrie Kimball - Monahan.

The identification was made by the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. No foul play is suspected, she said.

Pin was reported missing April 2.

A Phillips Academy crew coach found his body in the Merrimack River near Jillian Way at around 2:30 p.m. Saturday and called police.

The Massachusetts Environmental Police recovered the body with assistance from state troopers and Andover officers.

Family and friends of Pin were looking for him after he failed to show up at a family member's home.

He left behind his live-in girlfriend, a new car he had recently purchased and all of his possessions.
