Disney musical to help Ironstone Farm transform lives April 20-22
4 April shows of Beauty and the Beast benefit Andover nonprofit for kids, veterans
A popular Disney musical about transformation will help power the transformative nonprofit programs at Andover’s Ironstone Farm.
ACTORS inc, a Dracut-based nonprofit performing group, will perform Disney’s Beauty and the Beast during the weekend of April 20-22. Proceeds from its four shows will benefit Ironstone Farm’s nonprofit programs for children with special needs, veterans who have experienced trauma, and others.
A Community Theater Organization Reaching for the Stars, Inc. (ACTORS inc) will perform the beloved “tale as old as time” Friday, April 20 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, April 21 at both 1 and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, April 22 at 1 p.m. at the Carl Rondina Performing Arts Center in Chelmsford. With its two indoor riding areas and 19 acres, Ironstone Farm is open 12 months a year, six days a week, serving about 450 clients each week thanks to the help of about 200 weekly volunteers. On many Sundays, it offers special events, including free programs for veterans, people diagnosed with cancer, children with special needs seeking adoption and others. Ironstone also has a recreational riding program and summer riding and nature camps.

On Sunday, June 17 -- Father’s Day, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. -- Ironstone will host the Ironstone Derby 5K & Father’s Day Fun, a charity race, walk and holiday party. People can run or walk the race and then stay at the Andover horse farm for party with food; music; games for all ages, including a Pinewood Derby with wooden cars; prizes, and a horse-and-rider show.
