Hernandez grew up in Methuen, Andover and Lawrence, and graduated from Andover High School.
ANDOVER, MA —The below obituary is from the Carrier Family Funeral Home & Crematory. Hernandez passed away Monday after a car accident last week. Community members raised over $30,000 for his funeral costs via GoFundMe.
Gabriel A. Hernandez, 22 of Methuen, MA, was called home on Monday, Jan. 20th at the Lahey Clinic, Burlington, MA, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Gabriel was born in Methuen, MA, grew up and was educated in Lawrence and Andover, MA, where he graduated from Andover High School in 2015. He was a resident of Methuen for the past 4 years.
Gabriel worked for Hurd Construction Company. He was a member of Granite United Church in Salem, NH. He loved sports, especially basketball and baseball and was a Captain for the varsity baseball team at Andover High School. He loved being with his family, especially his sister Sadie.

Gabriel is survived by his parents Irene Guillermo and William Hernandez of Methuen, MA.
Sister: Sadie Piotrowicz of Methuen, MA
Maternal Grandparents: Lucy Cordero and Raymond Guillermo of Lawrence, MA
Paternal Grandparents: Martha and Roberto Hernandez of Lawrence, MA
Several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours on Friday, Jan. 24th from 10 AM to 12 Noon, followed by a celebration of Gabriel’s life at 12 Noon at Granite United Church, 1 Sand Hill Rd, Salem, NH. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Granite United Church.
The Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Rd, Windham, NH, has care of Gabriel’s arrangements.
