Man Charged After Knocking Over Utility Pole on Chandler Road

The following are excerpts from the Andover Police log. The log is open to the public.
Tuesday, Jan. 22
At 2:27 a.m. a caller reported a car that ran into a telephone pole on Chandler Road. The pole had fallen over and was lying across the road with live wires down. When police arrived the operator was not on the scene but officers eventually located the individual on Mount Vernon Street. The operator was charged with leaving the scene of property damage and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

At 9:47 a.m. Phillips Academy security found a live bullet in the ice rink on Main Street.
At 7:51 p.m. a caller reported that someone broke into his motor vehicle while he was at a sporting event at the high school. An officer reported that this was an attempted motor vehicle theft as there was damage to the ignition.

Wednesday, Jan. 23
At 9:24 a.m. the principal at High Plain Elementary School reported vandalism in one of the classrooms on High Plain Road.
At 5:13 p.m. a caller reported harassing phone calls from her boyfriend's ex-wife on River Street.
At 7:43 p.m. a caller reported a two-car crash with no injuries on River Road. No injuries were reported.
