No More Free Parking In Andover

The town had given shoppers a free pass as a way to boost local businesses following the Sept. 13 gas explosions.

ANDOVER, MA -- In another sign -- albeit an unwelcome sign -- that life is returning to normal following the Sept. 13 gas explosions, Andover began enforcing parking regulations on Wednesday. The town had been offering free parking through the holiday season as a way to entice shoppers downtown following the gas explosions.

Andover had been offering free parking uptown, which also cleared roadways for restoration efforts by Columbia Gas of Massachusetts.
