Obituary: Edward A. Doyle Jr.; Employed as a Technical Editor, Ran 10 Boston Marathons

Lifelong resident of Andover.

Edward A. Doyle, Jr., a lifelong resident of Andover and beloved husband of Sheila M. (Carleton) Doyle, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 10, 2015. He was 81 years old.

Born in Andover on June 12, 1934, he was the beloved son of the late Edward A. Sr. and Mary J. (Thornton) Doyle. Mr. Doyle was a graduate of Merrimack College and had attended Villanova University and Salem State University. He was employed as a Technical Editor and had retired from Comverse in Wakefield, MA.

He enjoyed a lifetime of running and completed 10 Boston Marathons and many other races throughout the years, and was a member of the North Medford Running Club and the Irish-American Track Club. He enjoyed all sports, especially baseball and watching the Red Sox and Celtics, and was also a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Lawrence, MA. He will be dearly missed.

Besides his beloved wife, Sheila, Edward is survived by his loving children; Ryan C. Doyle of Andover, Riley C. Doyle of Londonderry, New Hampshire and Kelley C. Doyle of Andover and sister; Kathleen Doyle of Haverhill.
