Hiro was a true student of the world. Driven by his insatiable curiosity, he loved to engage in the pursuit of knowledge and truth, and share his understanding with those close to him. Hiro loved animals, and was happiest when he was patiently and lovingly caring for Nicholas, Ivy and Cinco. At the time of his passing, Hiro was a dedicated member of Ascension Memorial Church in Ipswich, Mass. As a child and teenager, he was a member of Christ Church in Andover, where he served as an acolyte. Hiro loved to sing, and at both Christ Church and Ascension Memorial Church, he was an enthusiastic participant in the service and in choir activities.
Hiro will be missed and treasured always by his parents, Tadashi and Liz, his proud and loving brother Alex, his cherished fiancée, Emilie Maloy, PharmD, of Topsfield, Mass., and her kind and caring family. Hiro will also be held in loving memory by our dear friend and family member, Kate. Hiro was a great source of joy to his late grandfathers, Dr. Hugh R. Samson and Mr. Hiroshi Toyoda, and will be remembered with love and great pride by his grandmothers, Dr. Virginia Samson of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and Mrs. Yukie Toyoda of Tokyo, Japan, as well as his many aunts, uncles and cousins, both in Canada and Japan.
