Obituary: Rachel L. (Van Horne) Runge, Mother of 7 Children

Rachel L. (Van Horne) Runge, a resident of Andover and North Andover and wife of the late Wallace E. Runge, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at the Sutton Hill Nursing Center in North Andover.

She was 97 years old. Born in Reading, Massachusetts, on July 10, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah (Wakefield) Van Horne. Rachel loved and was loved by her family and the Lord, and left this life following Jesus, the Good Shepherd, home.

She was the mother of seven children, and grandmother and great grandmother of many more.

She is survived by her sons Wally and Eric Runge. Rachel will be dearly missed.

Her Memorial Service will be celebrated at Free Christian Church, 41 Elm Street, Andover, Massachusetts, at noon on April 11, 2015. Donations in Rachel’s memory may be made to Compassion International, a Christian child advocacy ministry, at compassion.com.
