Overnight Lane Closures Begin On I-495

The overnight work will continue for several weeks, according to MassDOT.

From the Massachusetts Department of Transportation: The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has announced that crews will implement left lane closures on I-495 north and southbound in Haverhill beginning the evening of Monday, June 10, and continuing during overnight hours only for the next several weeks.

These lane closures will be in place each evening between 7 p.m., and 5 a.m., the next morning. These impacts are necessary to allow crews and contractors to safely and effectively carry out construction work related to the ongoing project to replace the bridge that carries I-495 over the Merrimack River.

Signs, traffic control devices and law enforcement officers will be deployed to guide drivers through the work zone. All work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
