Police I.D. Man Who Allegedly Approached Children in His Car
The man's actions were not deemed to be criminal.
ANDOVER – The Andover Police Department has identified and questioned a New Hampshire man as part of an investigation into a Tuesday incident where multiple children complained about a suspicious man approaching them in a vehicle.
The 54-year-old man, whose name has not been released, was identified as a motorist who allegedly approached a group of children Tuesday evening and tried to engage with them in conversation. The act prompted the children to report the situation to their parents who contacted Andover PD.
Police determined that the act was not a criminal offense but informed the man that his actions made people uncomfortable and that he should stop.

“Anytime someone sees something suspicious or something that makes them uncomfortable, they should call us," Police Chief Patrick Keefe said in a statement. “There is no such thing as bother people. I am proud of our residents for bringing their concerns forward and pleased that our officers identified this individual promptly.”
