Rotary Removal In Methuen To Continue In March

Drivers should brace for traffic delays on I-93 and routes 113 and 110 in Methuen.

METHUEN – Driving on Interstate 93 and Routes 110 and 113 in the Methuen area will be more of a challenge during March as the Massachusetts Department of Transportation announced roadwork will continue where MassDOT has removed the rotary.

MassDOT has announced it will do the following:

  • Continue work on utilities on Routes 110 and 113 west of Route 93
  • Work on drainage in center work zone on I-93
  • Continue to work on lighting on Route 110/113
  • Continue to excavate for permanent sedimentation and infiltration basins
  • Form and place median concrete deck sections at I-93 Bridge over Riverside Drive
  • Place fill where center sections of existing rotary bridges have been removed
  • Place permanent precast median barrier at I-93
  • Form and place concrete barrier below Forest Street Bridge

  • For daytime work on I-93 – 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • For nighttime work on I-93 – 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • For daytime work on local roads – 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Expected Lane Closures:

  • Single lane closures can be expected on I-93 northbound from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Single lane closures can be expected on I-93 southbound from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Double lane closures can be expected on I-93 southbound from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Single lane closures can be expected on local roads from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
