Second Student Claims Sexual Abuse by Former Pike School Teacher
The second former Pike School student in the past two months is coming forward claiming he was sexually abused by a former female teacher at the school.
Another former Pike School student has come forward claiming that he was sexually abused by former Pike School teacher Judith Elefante. This student will be the second plantiff in the current lawsuit that was filed against the Pike School and Elefante by another former male student last month.Â
The student now coming forward was at Pike School in the late 1970s to early 1980s and claimed to have engaged in sexual activities with Elefante as early as age 14. The male student named in the initial lawsuit was at Pike in the early 1990s.Â
The lawsuit now alleges that Elefante, formerly Judith Chapell, had sexual relationships with both male students at different points in time.

According to the document filed by attorney Carmen Durso in Suffolk Superior Court, Elefante was in a position to exploit learning issues that both male students had while at Pike School. Elefante allegedly made both students feel as though their relationship was special and it was normal to carry it to a sexual point.
The lawsuit is saying that that faculty and staff at the Pike School acted negligently in regards to standing in the way of Elefante’s behavior.  As a result, the former students were assaulted, battered and raped by Elefante.

The lawsuit is seeking damages as a result of the serious and permanent physical and emotional injuries sustained by the inappropriate sexual relationship.
The Pike School in February released a statement to the Pike School Community about the sex abuse lawsuit. It said even though officials knew about the sexual relationship between Elefante and the student two years ago, at which point Ms. Elefante was fired, Schwartzman said they did not know that any sexual activity went on during the Pike School period and felt it was not neccessary to inform the public.Â
