State Trooper Rescues Baby Hawk

The hawk is being rehabilitated after appearing to fall out of a nest along Route 125

ANDOVER – A Massachusetts State Trooper became a hero Monday after stopping check on "good samaritans" along Route 125 in Andover, state police said on Facebook.

When Trooper Leigha Genduso pulled into the breakdown lane around 3:30pm Monday afternoon to check on the good samaritans she was greeted with a surprise: a baby hawk.

The hawk had become stranded in the middle of the road and led back to the wood line. After Genduso arrived on the scene, she "took the little red tailed guy and brought him back to the Andover Barracks," state police said. Genduso was able to then make contact with rescue falconer Diane Welch.
