ANDOVER, MA — Town officials are gearing up to celebrate Andover's 375th Anniversary with a variety of festivities. The events will run into May 2022.

“Looking back, Andover has a long, proud tradition of celebrating its founding,” said Paul
MacKay, Chairman of the Andover 375th Anniversary Committee. “We have developed an
exciting series of events with an eye not only on having fun, but on learning about the rich,
fascinating history of our town."

The town was incorporated on May 6, 1646. In order to make the anniversary celebrations happen, town officials said they will rely on public support as they have with past events.

“Traditionally, past anniversary celebrations have been paid for through sponsors, partners,
guests and our enthusiastic fellow residents, the 375th is no different. We know they will come
through, as they always have, and help make the 375th a bright spot for years to come.” MacKay
added.

While the dates of the events have not been announced, over the next several weeks, the town plans to provide the public with additional details through its website, social media, direct mail, local newspapers, radio, lawn signs and larger public displays.

In the meantime, the 375th committee is asking the community to take part in the “What do I love about Andover” survey.

“It’s fast, it’s fun and a way to add your thoughts to this historic occasion," Chairman MacKay said.

The committee is printing lawn signs for eligible participants declaring they’ve been “375 th’d."
